Charity & Community Project Support

Charities and grassroots projects – the beating hearts of our community

Do you know of or run a community project or charity that would benefit from Omni-Build’s construction and building maintenance support? We’re seeking out community-based projects that make a positive difference to the world, projects that benefit both their local and global communities, no matter how big or small.

–  Construction project management – from constructing shipping container homes for rough sleepers to putting up shelves to help you with storage – if you can dream it, we can help plan, cost and build it!

–  Building and grounds maintenance – roofing, facade repairs, gutter clean and repair, external painting, timber repair and care, render repairs – the list goes on.

Omni-Build provide planning, costing and labour for a wide variety of maintenance issues – materials are paid for by the project we are assisting, however, we are able to assist with fundraising efforts and through the kindness and support of our Sponsors and Construction Partners, we are able to source some items free of charge or at a discounted rate.

Bringing together people from all walks of life, projects like these allow our Volunteers and Trainees an opportunity to contribute to their community whilst receive training and work experience, as well as the chance to meet new people and work on something meaningful.

The amazing work our volunteers do within our community wouldn’t be possible without the support of our generous Construction Partners and Sponsors.

We’re proud to be supporting community-based projects and would love you to be part of our mission.

CURRENT PROJECT  –  Falmouth Food Kitchen’s Love Land!
Penryn – Feb 2021 – onwards
10 gorgeous acres of loveliness that’s about to be transformed into a community growing and meeting space – the plans are still being drawn up, but we expect to be supporting them with timber building construction, installation of infrastructure and children’s play equipment and possibly (fingers and toes crossed) a treehouse!

CURRENT PROJECT  –  Goonown Growers
St Agnes – Jan 2021 – onwards
With a strong emphasis on reducing food miles and improving biodiversity, the project brings together the very best of community and nature into one beautiful space.. and they’ve asked us for a little help!

From January onwards there will be opportunities to help us improve their onsite infrastructure.. there will be groundworks, carpentry, and plumbing skill-shares as well as the chance to get involved with the project’s food production!

RECENT PROJECT: KLOTH Kernow’s Library Of Things
Penryn – September-November 2020
Communities working together to share resources and create a less wasteful, more sustainable world!

Team Omni had the absolute pleasure of supporting KLOTH with the fit-out of their library of things in Penryn, where the community can hire out useful items, you know, the ones we buy and then once a year!

Together a total of 11 volunteers of all ages and backgrounds came together with local businesses (Bradfords Builders merchants, Pendennis Ship Yard and Jo Saw Mills) to create this amazing space that will massively benefit the Falmouth and Penryn communities!

RECENT PROJECT: The Last Chance Hotel – Animal Sanctuary – Chacewater.
Understanding that our community isn’t just made up of people, but also our furry and feathered friends.. we engaged with the LCH team to construct an ‘animal hospital’. We arrived to a 200-year-old stable that was full of junk and rat droppings, what the wonderful volunteers created.. a brilliant, bright, sterile veterinary room that can be used to treat injured and poorly little souls.

Together a total of 15 volunteers of all ages and backgrounds (to include local youth, retired professionals, local tradespeople, former offenders and a former police officer) came together to create this amazing space.. community construction at its best!

RECENT PROJECT: Help Newport’s Homeless
If you can dream it.. we can build it. Only through grass-root projects like these will we create stronger, better-connected communities. Not just for those with no fixed abode, the hub was created to benefit the community as a whole, offering food parcels, free hair cuts, baby care parcels, male and female hygiene packs and clothing to anyone in need.

Together a total of 7 volunteers committed to help build, sort clothes, make food and fundraise to create a resource that can best be described as a lifeline to the community at large.

RECENT PROJECT: Aid Box Community Hub
Understanding that communities can be both local and global – the beautiful people who run this Bristol-based project collect unwanted food, clothing and homeware and distribute it not only to those in need throughout their city and county but globally, reaching as far as France, Greece and Turkey. Due to the poor condition of the building which houses their HQ, donated items were at risk of perishing.. a community call-out was broadcast across social media and the response was incredible.

Together a total of 9 volunteers committed to the emergency project carrying out roof and facade repairs to fully waterproof and secure the building.

RECENT PROJECT: Help Bristol’s Homeless
CommUNITY in action – not only was this project aimed at tackling the plight of the ever-increasing number of homeless people on Bristol’s streets, but the project became a beautiful example of those to be thought of ‘in need’ providing for themselves with the smallest amount of support from people within their own community.

Together a total of 6 volunteers from all walks of life and 4 gents of no fixed abode transformed shipping containers into purpose-built homes which formed the foundation of the now Help Bristol’s Homeless project.

Let’s work together to construct positive change

Inspiring purpose, bringing people together from all walks of life – we’re helping to build better connected communities for everyone. Project by project, it’s our mission to construct positive change and provide opportunities to those who need it most.

We provide labour, construction support and project management to purposeful community projects. And we give individuals from marginalised backgrounds valuable training and work experience, as well as the chance to meet new people and work on something meaningful.

We’re proud to be making a difference and we’d love you to be part of our mission.
